Wind turbines are those rotating things that produce energy when blown by wind

One of the main reasons for using wind turbines is that natural resources are not everlasting and every one under this sky should think on how to protect the environment for the generations to come. Learning how to avoid pollution can result in a more healthy society. When it comes to look after the environment, everyone should begin from himself by trying to keep the air and water pure, clean and healthy.

So instead of using electricity to make wind, we can use wind turbines to make electricity. Generating electricity from wind sources is extremely cleaner than generating it by using fuel. No pollution, no dangerous waste that kills fragile organisms, nothing deadly whatsoever.

Wind turbines are those rotating things that produce energy when blown by wind. The wind turns the blades, which roll a shaft joined to a generator that gives electricity.

The most familiar types used today are the horizontal axis turbines; they are significantly more efficient and are able to produce fairly large amounts of energy in comparison to other types of renewable power. Horizontal axis turbines need to be pointed directly at the wind.

There are various sizes and power ratings of wind turbines. the best location for wind farms is on ridges, hill-tops , near the beach, and even being set up in areas of unused farmland that are almost without trees, where they can catch the wind . Small wind turbines can also be useful on boats, the movement of the ship will gather enough breeze to let the blades turn even when winds are low, making them an extremely dependable source. By using wind power to generate electricity, you can reduce air and water pollution and ease global warming. Wind energy produces no emanations, needs no fuel and the cost of the electricity produced is fixed over time.

Wind turbines do not make annoyance. The development of wind farm technology over the past was linked to high levels of mechanical noise, but newly developed wind turbines operate quietly. They are now becoming popular for small and large applications.

How do wind turbines work

Wind power generators are devices which are used in the generation of electrical current and are powered by the wind. Like in the days of yore, old fashioned windmills, today’s wind machines use blades to collect the kinetic energy made by wind. Windmills work because their blades slow down the speed of the wind. The wind flows over the airfoil-shaped blades causing lift, like found in the effect on airplane wings, making them turn. When the wind blows at a set speed (usually two miles an hour) the blades (connected to a drive shaft that turns an electric generator) produce electricity. More on how do wind turbines work

Wind Turbines - Wind Power Generator

Wind power is the way in which wind energy is converted using wind power generators into more useful forms, such as electricity. Windmills (a much older technology we are familiar with) used wind energy to turn mechanical machinery to do physical work, such as milling / crushing grain, or pumping water. Modern technology has allowed the rotation of wind power generators blades to turn into electrical current by means of an electrical generator.
I came to use solar and wind energy by necessity, not for the pleasure: Few years ago the country I was living in at the time went through a devastating war. As with all wars, the main and strategic targets were water and electricity production facilities. I was left with few options to power my house. A power generator was not one of them as fuel was almost unavailable at the time. This is how I took the plunge and began my journey towards solar and wind energy.
Solar lights and wind turbines are a great way to save money on your electricity bills.
